British Council (in China we operate as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy/British Consulate General) provides the following post-test services:

IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Delivery

For candidates sitting the IELTS test in China, the Test Report Form will be sent by EMS (limited to local/domestic service) on the 10th working day after the test to the address given during on-line registration. You can also check your test result on the IELTS on-line registration website: http://ielts.etest.net.cn on the same day.

Candidates must ensure that the address is valid for at least 1 month after the test date. If the address changes, the candidate should contact us within 1 week after the test date, and provide an ID photocopy as well as an address change application. We may not be able to process address change requests after the time specified.

If you don't receive your Test Report Form after the 13th working day after test, please check the EMS tracking number with us immediately, and then call the EMS hotline at 11185 or log on to EMS website www.ems.com.cn to trace the express mail.

For candidates sitting the IELTS test in Mongolia, the Test Report Form will be distributed to candidates via ESPF (Mongolian test centre).

Please kindly note that:

• It is NOT possible to give test results over the telephone or by e-mail.
• Candidates will only receive 1 original Test Report Form. Please keep it safely and it cannot be replaced. We suggest you make photocopies of your Test Report Form as soon as you receive it.
• We DO NOT offer Test Report Form photocopies or test results verification service to candidates.
• The IELTS test result is valid for 2 years. However, some universities or organisations may have their own regulations concerning the period of validity.

If you lose your Test Report Form:

We suggest that you use following solutions:

• Please request us to send your extra Test Report Form to overseas universities or institutions. For more details, please refer to 'Extra Test Report Form (TRF)' below.
• If your receiving institution already signed up for the global on-line Test Report Form verification service, your test results will be able to be verified on-line. For more details, please refer to the IELTS global website: http://bandscore.ielts.org/verification.aspx.

Extra TRF Sending

IELTS TRF (Test Report Form) is the standard proof of candidate's English proficiency. To ensure that the Test Report Form is authentic, the receiving bodies will only accept original copies of the test report form sent from the British Council.
If the candidate puts down contact details of the receiving organizations upon registration, a maximum of 5 free copies of the test report form can be sent out within 15 working days after the test.
If the request of sending extra test report form is made after the test, a fee of 60RMB per copy will be charged (postal fee exclusive if delivered by courier). The extra copies of TRF will be sent out within 5 working days upon receiving the request and payment.

Enquiry on Results (EOR) Service

If a candidate is not satisfied with his/her IELTS score, he/she can apply for an Enquiry on Results (EOR) service.

EOR fee (no matter whether it is a full or a partial re-mark):

- RMB900 for candidates sitting the test in China
- USD123 for candidates sitting the test in Mongolia

EOR application period:

Within four weeks (28 days) of the printing date on the TRF. Candidates should make sure that the following complete set of application documents arrives at our office before the deadline:

- Completely filled in Application Form for Enquiry on Results ( MS Word format ). Please provide your full detailed contact address, post code and daytime telephone number.
- Your original TRF.

All the required test materials will be remarked by EOR examiners. This procedure takes eight weeks. Please kindly note that:

If scores changed after EOR:

- We will issue a new TRF, however, the new scores cannot be traced on the IELTS on-line registration website.
- A full-refund will be made to candidates sitting the test in China via postal remittance 1 month after the new TRF issuance.
- For candidates sitting the test in Mongolia, a full refund will be made by ESPF (Mongolian test centre).

If scores unchanged after EOR:

- We will return the original TRF to the candidate

Remark: There is NO appeal after this re-mark. The decision is final. During the period of remarking, the test results are frozen, and cannot be used to apply for a university or to be sent to an immigration office. Any extra TRF application lodged during this period will be regarded as invalid.

Payment Method:

- For candidates sitting the test in China, please submit the payment either by postal remittance or by paying cash in our office. Please do not enclose cash in your application.
- The East china Test Region only accepts postal remittance, the South China Region does not accept cash payment between 12:00 to 13:30.
- For candidates sitting the test in Mongolia, it is suggested that candidates go to ESPF (Mongolian test centre) to make the payment.
