It is a common fact that the students attending IELTS training courses receive their materials from a limited ranging from Cambridge IELTS3 to Cambridge IELTS9. And naturally, both Chinese kids and their teachers take every endeavour to make the most of this series. However, a question arises that what will happen to those kids who made inconspicuous progress after running out of IELTS materials. Could possibly be an answer for this dilemma? In other words, how could we make sensible use of this series (and other materials if advised)

Thanks ever so much for raising one of my favourite topics: materials!

The British Council in partnership with Beijing Language and Communication Press, recently released the Essential Guide to IELTS. It’s packed with useful samples and information for students.

An area you raise that really excites me is how to exploit materials. There are many great techniques and strategies for exploiting resources and getting more for your money, as we say in English!

Watch this space for ideas on exploiting materials and resources. But if you can’t wait visit our website for teachers to find useful resources for teaching, please click here: Teachingenglish.britishcouncil.org.cn

As a sneek preview of what’s to come in later newsletters, make sure you answer the question in this month’s survey on personalization!

Cheers,
Colin
